Tell us about your love story: 

Mahmoud and I went to the same high school, he was the year above me. We weren’t friends but we kind of knew of each other. After high school, Mahmoud was working as a security guard at a shopping centre, and I happen to have just started managing a jewelry store in the same shopping centre. One Thursday night, as I was closing the shop, Mahmoud and his supervisor attended the store about fake money being used. It had turned out a customer had used fraudulent notes to make a purchase. Mahmoud and his manager helped me with the incident and helped me close up the shop afterwards. Later that night Mahmoud added me on Facebook and we realised we went to the same high school. Mahmoud messaged me to check up on me after the incident and this led to us engaging in conversation and after some time we formed a friendship. After a few months, Mahmoud started leaving flowers at my car to surprise me and 9 years later we got married!

How did he propose? 

On our 6-year anniversary, Mahmoud took me up the coast for the day to celebrate. Little had I known he organsied an airbnb in the Central Coast by a lake and decorated the inside with roses and candles. When we arrived, we went for a walk by the lake and when we came back to the airbnb, I went inside and was surprised by the roses and candles and Mahmoud was down on one knee on the back patio looking over the lake.
